Ironically, as most people express their gratitude for 2016 coming to a close, I’m sad to see it go. By far, 2016 was my best year yet, not only personally, but professionally. In my personal life I secured life long friendships, got engaged and traveled. Professionally, not only did I double my volume of sales over 2015, I also doubled my gross commissions. Its hard for me to picture how 2017 could possibly supersede 2016. However, there is quite a bit to look forward to this year.
In June, I get to marry the yin to my yang and the man who makes me laugh on a daily basis. Getting married means not only securing a partner in life but seeing the majority of my favorite people in one room at one time, and likely the only time in my life. For those two things, I could not be more excited about that day.
With getting married, also comes the highly desired honeymoon which to me translates as travel. I am looking forward to exploring the to be determined corner of the world I have yet to experience with Daniel. We have very different goals when travelling, he likes sitting still, moving slowly and scuba diving every morning; I on the other hand, like adventure and exploration which equates to constantly on the move and not a lot of sleeping in. Despite all this, I am sure we will decide on a place that offers us both what we are looking for on our vacation. We are open to suggestions!
I was able to accomplish the majority of my goals in 2016 so I hope to do the same in 2017 as well. Here are a couple of the resolutions I am working towards this year:
1. Double my business again
This means I need your help! Referrals make my business go around. Past clients, friends and family alike. If you know anyone looking to buy or sell a home in 2017 please give them my name. I will forever be grateful and may even treat you to a Starbucks or two to show you my gratitude!
2. Make this blog more of a priority
I let life get in the way last year and didn’t manage my time well. This blog is a creative outlet for me and I appreciate having something to focus on that isn’t work or home related. I started by giving it a little facelift. You may notice the new logo and color changes if you’ve been here before.
3. Continue learning
Although I am done with my college education, there is still so much knowledge to obtain I could use to better myself and my business. I am starting by reading more and listening to more podcasts while in the car geared towards business. No more mindless Top 40! But binge watching Netflix is ok every once in a while, because, work/life balance right?
4. Establish a new hobby
Blogging has been a way for me to channel some new interests such as writing and photography. I’d like to get better at those two things this year.
5. Deepen relationships with those who matter
I spent too much time investing effort in people who didn’t invest the same amount of effort in me last year. Unfortunately, it took me too long to establish those people weren’t worth my time. But this year I plan to focus on those that matter, that put in the same effort and are real friends.
If 2017 was anything like 2016, it will go by quick and it has the likelihood to be yet again the best year ever. I’m so excited to see what this year brings but I have a feeling no matter what happens, it will turn out pretty great!
Happy new year peeps! Hope it brings fulfillment and love your way!
